You are not your thoughts. Your thoughts are not you.
This statement is so true, yet it is often forgotten by most people. We think of ourselves as being our mind, but we are much more than that. Our mind is just one part of us. The other parts are our body and our emotions.
The reason why this statement is so true is because we are not only the thoughts we have in our minds, we are also the feelings that we have in our bodies and the emotions that we feel in our hearts. In fact, all three of these areas of ourselves are intertwined. For example, if we feel angry, we will probably think angry thoughts. If we think angry thoughts, we will probably feel angry.
The problem with our minds is that they are constantly changing, depending on what we are thinking about. This means that we can never really know exactly what we are thinking at any given time. Even when we think that we are being objective, we still end up having subjective views. When we think about something, it is impossible for our mind to stay completely neutral. It will always have an opinion.
When we are thinking, our emotions are also being activated. They may be positive or negative. If we are thinking about something that makes us feel happy, then our emotions will be positive. If we are thinking about a situation that makes us feel sad, then our emotions will be negative.
It is impossible for us to ever really get rid of our emotions. We can only try to change how we feel about things. However, this is not as easy as it sounds. We may think that we want to feel good about something, but if we do not feel good about it, then we may find that we cannot let go of it.
We need to realize that we are not just our minds. Our minds are just one part of who we are. Our minds are like a computer. They store information, but they cannot make decisions or take action. We need to learn how to use our minds, but we also need to learn how to use other parts of our selves.
For example, if we think about something, it may make us feel happy or sad. It may even make us angry. If we are feeling happy, then we should think about something that will make us feel happier. If we are feeling sad, then we should think about what will make us feel happier. This is how we can use our minds to change how we feel.
However, we cannot always control our thoughts. Sometimes, we will have thoughts that are negative. We will think about things that will make us feel bad. If we are feeling happy and then we start thinking about something that will make us sad, we may end up feeling even worse.
There are times when we will have to let go of our thoughts. This is when we need to let go of our emotions. When we are thinking about something that will make our emotions negative, we need to stop thinking about it. We need to allow our emotions to calm down before we think about anything else.
If we try to think about something while we are feeling negative, then we are likely to end up feeling worse. This is why it is important to take a break from our thoughts. We need to allow our minds to rest, before we try to think about something else.
We need to learn how to move beyond merely thinking about something, to actually thinking about it. If we are trying to think about something that will make our mind feel happy, then we need to allow our mind to be happy. We need to think about something that will bring us joy.
The next time you are having a hard time dealing with something, you may want to ask yourself, “What can I do to make myself feel better?” This may help you to see a way that you can deal with the situation.
