There is a famous Chinese saying “everything’s easier when it’s others”… however, I also hear something like “anything worth doing is worth doing badly”… can you identify with these statements?
How many of us do just enough to get by without really going for it? How many of us never quite reach the point of believing we “deserve” to have good relationships with the people we love? How many of us never get the hang of saying “yes” to our dreams and “yes” to the desire to have a good relationship with our loved ones?
Sometimes, it’s difficult to know where to start; at the surface of our hearts or deeper within. It’s not always easy to figure out how to change or enhance our relationships. It takes some time and effort to enhance our relationships. And, it’s not always easy to stay on track. But, it’s worth it.
When we try to change or enhance our relationships, our personal growth happens along with our relationships with others. We find that we’re able to love ourselves more fully and we’re able to enhance our friendships and the relationships we have with others. Most of all, we find that our relationships with others are enhanced.
If we never really reach our goal of having a good relationship, we may never learn how to enhance our relationships. We may never learn to let go and let ourselves go. We may never become the friend we dream we can be for our friend. We may never get the hang of asking people for help, knowing that others have it much easier and don’t have the regrets. We may never develop the habit of asking for help because we’re afraid others will turn us down. We may not even realize that people do have more challenging relationships than we do. We may not understand the importance of being a good friend and a good friend relationship. Or, we may not understand the importance of developing a relationship with ourselves first, before attempting to develop a relationship with others. Whatever the case, what’s important is that we always learn. We always learn to let go and let others know that we mean well.
We come to learn that to have a good relationship with others, we must let go and let ourselves go. We learn to not care as much about what others think. We learn to be who we are, without worrying so much about how others see us. We learn to be who we are and love ourselves the way we are. We find that we have to let go and let others know that we care. We become the people we want to be, instead of the people we are.
We must always let go and let ourselves know that we care. We must let go and let others know that we care.
