Have you ever noticed that it is easy to be ungrateful? It’s so easy to complain about our circumstances, and we’re all guilty of it at one time or another. We’re not only guilty of complaining about our circumstances, but we also tend to complain about others as well.
It’s easy to find reasons to complain, and when we complain, it can make us feel better temporarily. But the temporary feeling of satisfaction that we get from complaining does not last long, because we are soon back to complaining again. The problem with complaining is that it makes us feel good for a little while, but then we start to feel bad again, and the cycle repeats itself over and over.
If we want to change this pattern of behavior, we need to take a different approach. Instead of complaining about what we don’t have, we should focus on what we do have.
Instead of complaining about how much we don’t have, we need to look at all the things that we do have. We need to stop focusing on the things that we don’t have, and start looking at the things that we do have instead.
We need to realize that we have many things to be thankful for, and we need to remember them each day. If we don’t, then we will forget that we even have things to be thankful for. And if we forget that we have things to be thankful for, then we won’t have anything to be thankful for!
When we focus on the things that we have to be thankful for, we will realize that we have more than enough to be thankful for. When we focus on the things that are missing in our lives, we will miss out on the many blessings that we do have.
The more we focus on the things that aren’t there, the more we will miss out on the things that are there. It’s just like a child who complains about being hungry, but then eats a big meal. He’ll complain about being full, but then he’ll eat some more.
When we complain about what we don’t have and miss out on the things that we do have, we are setting ourselves up for a future filled with regret and frustration.
So instead of complaining about what we don’t have, we should focus on the things that we do. This will help us to be grateful for what we already have, and will help us to appreciate all the blessings that we do have. When we are grateful for the things that we already have, we will no longer be focused on what we don’t have, and we will no longer miss out on the things that already are.
