Gratitude can open us to a new reality and enrich our life. When we are grateful, the energy takes on a different vibration, a new frequency. It shifts us from the “using” mindset (where negative feelings are a way of life) to the “happy” mindset where grateful feelings are the norm.
We become truly present when we are grateful, and this is the essence of the Art of Gratitude. It’s our ability to use our emotions as a tool for transformation. This is why we need to be grateful for what we have, not why we don’t have what we wish we had. This is our true nature, the part of us that prefers to be grateful than complain. And, we need to use this natural state of mind to transform.
To do this, we need to develop a state of gratitude, a mental habit that can shift from the “using” mindset to the “happy” mindset. This requires practice. It takes time to develop a gratitude habit, and in time, we tend to revert back to the “using” mindset.
Practice, practice, practice.
I am a believer in practicing gratitude everyday, in order to become adept at saying thank you in an instant. We can train ourselves. It’s not rocket science. The Gratitude Journal is a daily journal where we can record our gratitude in everyday. I encourage you to join me on the journey of daily gratitude and practice.
What are you grateful for in your life right now?
“Happiness comes to those who practice kindness. By kindness I mean those qualities that distinguish them from others who feel injustice toward others and share their values. It comes to those who have learned the art of giving and being grateful.” – Martin Luther King Jr.
I am grateful for a life with 2 loving parents, a son and 2 daughters, and a wonderful husband. I am grateful for a great husband who believed in me and encouraged me at every turn. I am grateful for my children, who have grown up to be wonderful and caring human beings. I am grateful for my husband, who I left a long time ago, and for my career, which I no longer have any say in. I am grateful for a career path that didn’t give me a sense of meaning and purpose. I am grateful for all the experiences that I have had along the way. I am grateful to my past, present, and future selves for giving me the opportunity to grow and mature. I am grateful for the incredible relationship I currently have with a dear relative. I am grateful that I have been given a soul mate and I appreciate that the universe has placed us together for a purpose. I am grateful that I am able to bring the gifts and talents I have been given to benefit others. I am grateful that I am able to share my knowledge and inspire others to grow and shine. I am grateful that I have received the opportunity to have a purpose in life and to share my passion for life with everyone around me. I am grateful for the food that I eat, the air that I breathe, the water that I drink, the books that I read, the television shows that I watch, the educational tools that I have access to, the experiences that I have access to, and the experiences that others have access to. I am grateful that I have the opportunity to serve others through my talents, and those of others before me, and those of those before them. I am grateful that I am able to express my gratitude.
Develop an attitude of sharing
We all have the opportunity to share our passion for life. We are able to share our experiences, and we can share them in a way that instills a sense of meaning and purpose in our life. In a way that people around us can feel inspired and taken advantage of. And we can do this in a way that leaves an impact on everyone who sees our actions, and on everyone who comes across our actions. We can share our gratitude in a way that leaves no room for misinterpretation. We can do this in a way that instills a sense of meaning in our lives. We can do this in a way that we can see from a distance that we, in fact, have had a life, that we have lived, that we have gained knowledge, that we have experienced joy. We can do this in a way that leaves a void in the hearts of those who see our actions, and in the memories of those who have passed on.
We are able to share our gratitude, not just because we have the power to do so, but because of the fact that we have made the decision to do so. We have decided that we will share our stories, and that we are willing to share it. We have decided to keep our stories, even if it impacts others. We are not prepared to share our stories, in good conscience, until we are willing to give up our peace of mind. We are prepared to give up our peace of mind until we can be confident that the story is true. When we are confident in the truth of the story, we are ready to share the rest of it. In good conscience, we are able to share our stories even if it is hurtful to some, because we know, there is value in the truth. When we are confident in the story, we are able to give others the benefit of the story without suffering the effects of pain that is unnecessary.
The problem is, that we are not willing to give up our peace of mind. So, even though we are able to share the rest of our story, we are unwilling to give up our personal peace of mind. This is a problem. It is a problem that only intensified as we continue to grow. The time is coming, when we need to make a decision, whether we are willing to make the time to share our stories or not.
The choice is within our hands. The choice is simple.
